A
PROMISE WITH A CONDITION
The
Bible is full of God’s promises.
Every Christian would like to have
these promises become a reality in
their lives. How great are God’s
promises to us! These promises are
for us, so we may have life … so that
we may have a better life, as our Lord
Jesus Christ said. (John 10:10)
Almost
every promise has a condition. The
promise of this series is: “And you
will seek Me and find Me, when you
search for Me with all your heart.”
(Jeremiah 29:13)
Many of
us pray to God and seek Him, but find
no comfort or answers to our prayers.
God is faithful in all His promises,
for He said, “You shall seek me and
find me.” If that is His promise,
then why do not we find Him when we
seek Him? Because we seek Him in a
superficial way, and not from all our
hearts. “Or do you not know that your
body is the temple of the Holy Spirit
who is in you, whom you have from God,
and you are not your own? For you
were bought at a price; therefore,
glorify God in your body and in your
spirit, which are God's.”
(1Corinthians 6:19-20)
Our good
God bought us with the most precious
price in the whole world. He bought
us with His precious blood that was
shed for us. He shed His blood for us
to set us free from the bondage of
Satan, and to give us His life
freely. Every Christian must realize
this fact, that he is not his own, but
he belongs to the Lord.
“He died
for all, that those who live should
live no longer for themselves, but for
Him who died for them and rose again.”
(2 Corinthians 5:15) This verse must
be a reality in the life of every
Christian. If you believe that Christ
died and was raised up for your sake,
then you should not live for yourself,
but for Jesus Christ. If He died for
us, then the least He should ask of us
is that we would give our lives to
Him, since He gave us His own life.
Beloved
ones, God knows very well if you seek
Him with all your heart or not. He
searches all the hearts of all
mankind. Everything is naked before
His eyes. When you seek Him with all
your heart, you will surely find Him.
You will find His arms embracing you.
David
said: “I have set the LORD always
before me; because He is at my right
hand I shall not be moved,” (Psalm
16:8). Set the Lord before your eyes
all your life, and surely you will not
be moved.
Our Lord
Jesus Christ knows very well that
without the Holy Spirit we will be
spiritually thirsty. Eventually, we
will suffer a spiritual dehydration,
and it can lead to death. That is why
Jesus stood and cried with a “loud
cry” to attract the attention of the
crowd.
“He who
believes in Me,” as the Scripture had
said, “Out of his heart will flow
rivers of living water.” Beloved
ones, notice here that Jesus said, “He
who believes in Me,” and He did not
say, “He who has believed in Me for a
long time,” or, “He who did a certain
number of good deeds for a certain
period of time.” But, He said, “He
who believes in me” (present tense).
It is a continuous act of belief.
Every
believer must trust that our Lord
gives the Holy Spirit in abundance,
like a flowing river. Our Lord gives
generously and without measure. Our
God is a generous God.
In the
old testament, the Holy Spirit used to
come upon the prophet, the king, and
the priest only. He did not come upon
the rest of God’s people. The Holy
Spirit came upon them, but did not
dwell within them, because Jesus was
not glorified yet. But now, in the
covenant of grace, after the
crucifixion and resurrection, the Holy
Spirit dwells in us. He is the
promise of God the Father, to us, when
we believe. “In Him you also trusted,
after you heard the word of truth, the
gospel of your salvation; in whom
also, having believed, you were sealed
with the Holy Spirit of promise.”
(Ephesians 1:13)
“but if
you return to Me, and keep My
commandments and do them, though some
of you were cast out to the farthest
part of the heavens, yet I will gather
them from there, and bring them to the
place which I have chosen as a
dwelling for My name.” {Ne:1:9}the
condition here come in three parts 1-
you return to me 2- keep my
commandments 3- do them. We have
to do the three parts, and the promise
will be, I will gather them from
there, and bring them to the place
which I have chosen as a dwelling for
My name.
you
have to ask.
“"Ask,
and it will be given to you; seek, and
you will find; knock, and it will be
opened to you. "For everyone who asks
receives, and he who seeks finds, and
to him who knocks it will be opened.”
{Mt 7:7,8} this is absolute statement
and that is if you ask and seek and
knock you will definitely receive and
find and the door will be opened.
The
mystery of giving
"Give,
and it will be given to you: good
measure, pressed down, shaken
together, and running over will be put
into your bosom. For with the same
measure that you use, it will be
measured back to you." {Lu6:38} I know
a godly person who went through some
financial difficulty. She decided one
night to pray until the Holy Spirit
answers her about this problem. The
Lord reminded her with this verse
“give and it will be given to you” the
verse says give first and then it
shall be given to you. But every one
thinks he has first to earn and then
give. But with God it does no work
like that, you have to give first and
then get. Not only get but : good
measure, pressed down, shaken
together, and running over will be put
into your bosom. For with the same
measure that you use, it will be
measured back to you.
The
second promise concerning giving is
“Bring all the tithes into the
storehouse, That there may be food in
My house, And try Me now in this,"
Says the LORD of hosts, "If I will not
open for you the windows of heaven And
pour out for you such blessing That
there will not be room enough to
receive it. "And I will rebuke the
devourer for your sakes, So that he
will not destroy the fruit of your
ground, Nor shall the vine fail to
bear fruit for you in the field," Says
the LORD of hosts;” {Mal3:10,11} God’s
people in the old times they used to
gather their tithes into a store house
that when a Levite or a poor person
need any thing, they take it from the
store house. The condition here is to
bring the tithe and the promise is :
"If I will not open for you the
windows of heaven And pour out for you
such blessing That there will not be
room enough to receive it. "And I
will rebuke the devourer for your
sakes, So that he will not destroy the
fruit of your ground, Nor shall the
vine fail to bear fruit for you in the
field," Says the LORD of hosts.
Curses
and blessings
“Now it
shall come to pass, if you diligently
obey the voice of the LORD your God,
to observe carefully all His
commandments which I command you
today, that the LORD your God will set
you high above all nations of the
earth.” {De28:1} the condition here if
we diligently obey the voice of the
Lord to observe carefully all His
commandments. The promise will be the
Lord your God will set you above all
the nations of the earth, the
blessings are counted 14 blessings in
this chapter.
“ "But
it shall come to pass, if you do not
obey the voice of the LORD your God,
to observe carefully all His
commandments and His statutes which I
command you today, that all these
curses will come upon you and overtake
you” {De28:15} the condition here if
you choose not to obey the
commandments of the Lord, the promise
here are all these curses will come
upon you. I think they are more that
150 curses. I will write article about
the curses in the future.
The
importance of faith
Jesus
always ask every person came to Him
for healing “do you have faith to be
healed” If you want to be healed of
any disease or to obtain any blessing
you have to have faith, this is the
condition and the promise is you will
have what you want.
Abiding
in Jesus
“If you
abide in Me, and My words abide in
you, you will ask what you desire, and
it shall be done for you.” {Joh 15:7}
the condition here if you abide in
Jesus and His words abide in you. The
promise here that you shall ask for
any thing and it shall be done for
you. We will know what to ask for.
Return
to Me, and I will return to you
“Yet
from the days of your fathers You have
gone away from My ordinances And have
not kept them. Return to Me, and I
will return to you," Says the LORD of
hosts. "But you said, ‘In what way
shall we return?” {Mal3:7} God always
ask us to return to Him but we give
Him our backside not our face.
The
greatest initiation in the history of
mankind
The
principal of return to me and I will
return to you was the principal of the
Old Testament but the New Testament’s
principal is Jesus came with the
greatest initiation in the history of
mankind from Adam until Jesus. Our
Lord was born from the virgin St.
Mary, He suffer beyond anyone’s
imagination and was crucified and He
was raised from the dead. He is
calling on you to repent, he chasten
those whom He loves.
“As many as I love, I rebuke
and chasten. Therefore be zealous and
repent. Behold, I stand at the door
and knock. If anyone hears My voice
and opens the door, I will come in to
him and dine with him, and he with
Me.” {Rev 3: 19-20} He is now knocking
at the door, if you hear His voice and
open the door of your heart and make
Him Lord and Savior, which will be at
no cost to you, you will receive the
gift of salvation for free, because
Salvation is free. I want everyone to
know this fact that Salvation of Jesus
is free, but He wants you to live
entirely for Him. If you open for Him
the door, He will come and dine with
you. You will live in heaven and enjoy
heavenly blessing while you are still
on earth. You will take the Salvation
for free, but it has cost Jesus
everything. He suffered in His life on
earth. He Suffered to give you the
privilege of a true son of the
heavenly Father. Yes, if you accept
the Lord Jesus Christ you will become
a son to the heavenly Father. I hope
everyone reading this article has read
the article titled ”the Heavenly
Father”
These
articles were small part of the
promises with a condition in the
Bible, so we may learn that the
promises of the Lord often come with a
condition and we may learn what these
conditions are so we can fulfill them.
Please
remember when you read a promise
search for the condition.
