A way of
destruction
The sad
realty is, the number of Egyptians who
lie without conviction is very high.
In this
article I will write about how easy
and effortless for the Egyptians to
lie over and over. I have not noticed
the westerners lie that easily. Though
lying will forbid us from entering
heavens yet they still lie.
It is
very evident that the eastern culture
has its impact on the behavior of the
Christian Egyptians over the Christian
values. The Bible has to be honored in
all our ways first.
The
Bible condemn lying
The
Bible is full of verses that condemn
and denounce lying but we see a large
number of Christians lie with no
conviction at all. “Do not lie to one
another, since you have put off the
old man with his deeds,’’{Co3:9}
Are you
a Saint
Once I
was talking to a Christian man who
goes to the church and have communion
every week, and I mentioned how
frequent the Christians practice daily
sins without any hesitations and one
of which is lying. He asked me, does
that mean you do not lie? I said, no I
do not lie to anyone because laying is
a sin and the Bible’s views is very
clear on this issue. And the law of
any country punishes anyone who gives
false information about any thing. The
truth is the sin of lying will hinder
me from entering heaven; this is
mentioned in the book of revelations
twice (But
there shall by no means enter it
anything that defiles, or causes an
abomination or a lie.) {Re 21:27} and
in the final chapter (Blessed are
those who wash their robes, that they
may have the right to the tree of life
and that they may enter the city by
the gates. But outside are dogs and
sorcerers and sexually immoral and
murderers and idolaters, and whoever
loves and practices a lie.) {Re
22:14,15} the word love means admire
or encourage, so also anyone who lies,
encourage and admire lying will not
enter heaven. These are not my views
but the Bible’s. When I said that,
this person was mad at me as if I have
said some thing heretic or I acted as
an atheist, he said to me; are you
claiming you do not lie? So you are
above reproach and you are a saint and
we are not worthy to talk to you.
A
strange reaction
I was so shocked of his reaction
because this means it is impossible
for anyone to obey the Bible or have
any hope in the salvation of the Lord
Jesus Christ who died on the cross for
our sins and gave us His Grace to
enable us to obey His Word.
The
colored lie
There is no white lie or even pink or
blue lie. They are all black lie.
Because in the end you give wrong
information to the person you are
lying to. So it is a lie no matter
what color it is.
The
benefit of the grace of God
“For sin shall not have dominion over
you, for you are not under law but
under grace.” {Ro6:14}
The word grace in Hebrew which the old
testament was written means: joy,
pleasure, delight, sweetness, charm,
loveliness: grace of speech, good
will, loving-kindness. But grace in
the Greek language which new testament
was written means( the following was
taken from Strong concordance): the
merciful kindness by which God,
exerting his holy influence upon
souls, turns them to Christ, keeps,
strengthens, increases them in
Christian faith, knowledge, affection,
and kindles them to the exercise of
the Christian virtues.
Simply it is God’s influence upon our
souls or heart to do what is right in
sight of God to be able to overcome
sin and live a godly life.
the propose of the grace of God
This is the propose of grace: to
overcome the sin and have an assured
victory over it.
That is why St. Paul summed up this
very comforting fact and said “For sin
shall not have dominion over you, for
you are not under law but under
grace.” {Ro6:14} yes, when a sin
torment you, seek God’s grace and it
will give you God’s power to overcome
sin. “For sin shall not have dominion
over you, for you are not under law
but under grace.” {Ro6:14} this is one
of the most important truth every
Christian should know, everyone who
wants to live in a godly life.
Everyone who wants to overcome the
hurdles which Satan puts before God’s
children.
You will not succeed in honoring the
commandment without the grace of God
“They have all turned aside; They have
together become unprofitable; There is
none who does good, no, not one.”
{Ro3:12} this was the case of everyone
who lived under the law of Moses. They
were struggling to overcome sins but
they failed. I will tell this story
about my self : before I dedicated my
life to Jesus I used to curse a lot
and say bad words. I went to the
priest and he told me to fast and he
gave me some spiritual practices and
all these did not work. After
desperation I stood before the Lord
and I prayed with all my heart and I
asked God to help me to stop all the
bad words that come out of my mouth.
And I found my self do not curse any
more.
What happen to me that I did not curse
any more?
Remember that I said that grace means
the following: it is God’s influence
upon our souls to strengthen us to
overcome sins. This is the work of
grace to help us overcome the sin and
have real victory over our disobedient
to the word of God. What happened to
me when I cried out to God, His grace
came and helped me and mad me hate
this sin and not do it again.
Jesus
Christ did not only pay for our sins
on the cross, but He gave us the means
to enable us to live victorious in
this life , we will overcome the power
of sin through grace.
The Word of God became something we
hear about in the movies of the saints
only. The person who honors the Word
of God is treated now as someone who
is out of his mind or a heretic who
deserves to be mocked.
Beloved
ones; for this reason Jesus Christ
came and took our sins on the cross
and was risen up to give us His
righteous life and give us His Grace (For
sin shall not have dominion over you,
for you are not under law but under
grace.) {Ro 6:14} this verse is very
clear, that sin shall not have control
over us because we are under the Grace
of Jesus and not under the law. If you
trust totally in Jesus Christ’s Grace
and not on your human effort, sin will
not have dominion over you, any sin,
including lying. This is not
hypothetical talk but a way of life
for every one who lives faithfully for
Jesus.
The definition of lying is someone who
utters an untruth or attempt to
deceive by falsehood another person.
There are so many Christians who live
in a chain of lies and some of them
are servant in the church… that should
not happen.
When someone claims benefit from the
center link and declares that he has
no other income and at the same time
he earns a black money… that is a lie.
When someone calls you and you ask
your family to say you are not … that
is a lie and at the same time your are
sending a massage to your children
that lying is ok. And when one of your
children lies to you, you get mad;
your child will see you as hypocrite
for whatever is allowed for you is not
allowed for him.
Other verses about lying are (You
shall not steal, nor deal falsely, nor
lie to one another.) {Le 19:11} and (A
faithful witness does not lie, But a
false witness will utter lies.)
{Pro14:5}
Ananias and his wife, their sin was
lying. They paid the highest price for
it, their lives. They died in this sin
for the Bible did not tell us they had
a chance to repent (But Peter said,
"Ananias, why has Satan filled your
heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and
keep back part of the price of the
land for yourself?… You have not lied
to men but to God. Then Ananias,
hearing these words, fell down and
breathed his last) {Ac53-5} believe me
when someone lies to another he is
lying to God also for God hears and
sees everything, he is omnipresent.
David said (Let the lying lips be
dumb, which speak insolently against
the righteous in pride and contempt.)
{Ps31:18}This is the repayment of
anyone who speaks insolently against
God’s children. If you are one of
God’s faithful children, rest assured
that our Lord Jesus Christ will not
let those who are unjust to you escape
the punishment they deserve.
Lying is the way to destruction; so
avoid it for it will surely destroy
you in one way or another.
If you
are one of those who suffer from the
sin of lying, come now to the one Who
shed His blood to cleanse you from all
your sins. Come to Him with your
weakness and pray:
Your salvation is real, not an
imaginary theory.
You died
on the cross for my eternal life, give
me the joy of Your salvation in Your
holy name my Lord Jesus.
