Witchcraft, Evil Spirits And Curses (2)

 

We continue the subject about witchcraft, divination, one who interprets omens, a sorcerer, one who conjures spells, a medium, a spiritist, and one who calls up the dead. We wrote last article about the seriousness of someone who seek divination for everyone who does these things is an abomination to the Lord. We mentioned that reading tea or coffee leaves, reading the palm, reading the cards, reading your star signs and studying them as well are totally against the Bible. If you have done any of theses things, even in a fun way, you are provoking God’s anger against you “ my people perished from lack of knowledge” {Hos4:6}

We will continue writing about who observe times, interprets  omens and witchcraft  "When you come into the land which the LORD your God is giving you, you shall not learn to follow the abominations of those nations.   "There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, or one who practices divination or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens (or an observer of times,  [av]), interprets omens, or a sorcerer,   "or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead.   "For all who do these things are an abomination to the LORD, and because of these abominations the LORD your God drives them out from before you.  "You shall be blameless before the LORD your God.   "For these nations which you will dispossess listened to soothsayers and diviners; but as for you, the LORD your God has not appointed such for you.” {De 18:9-14} The people who observe times and interprets omen the Bible consider that act a sin for everyone practice this is actually prophesying what will happened in his life based on what happened to him during his days or his weeks and not based on what the Bible says. Some people think they will have a bad day if they see a black cat in the morning and others think if the day of the month is 13 and it happened to be Friday they will have  a bad day. These are the people who observe the times.

Is observing the times come to pass?

If you believe that something is going to happen, it will happen. As we said in the last edition that Satan will put a plan in your way and if you believe it, he will fulfill it. So if you see a black cat in the morning and you believe that it will be a bad day Satan will make your day miserable. Satan purposes to make you live in torment all day long and everyday, plus out people expect the worst. Have you seen some people laugh, what will they say; they will say I hope everything will go well, we laughed too much. And also people who observe the times for good things it will happened because the devil wants you to hang on to things happened to you and not on your relationship with Jesus Christy. Sadly a lot of people have things they become optimistic or pessimistic about, what ever they expect to happen will come to pass because Satan have control on what is around us and on our bodies as long as we allow him to do that. Satan does make us believe that what happened to us will affect our lives in order to separate us from the source of life, our Lord is Jesus Christ “Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me". {Jo14:6} Our life should be based on our relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ and not on what happens to us.

Why the Bible forbid us from observing the times and interpreting omens

The person who does that, being optimistic and pessimistic, his life is controlled by what happens in his day or week and not on his relationship with Jesus Christ, not his prayer life and not how much he honors the Bible. He is someone who is totally separated from our Lord Jesus. I myself used to observe the time before I committed my life totally to Jesus Christ, but after I decided to live for Jesus Christ I do not observe times at all because I know that my life is in the hand of God. If anyone tells me something to indicate interpreting omens I say the following: my whole life is in the hand of my redeemer and every Christian should have this belief and not live according to what happen to him through circumstances. I teach this to anyone who comes to me for counseling.

So observing what happen to you through your life and building upon that expectation to what will take place in your life is a form of prophesy but it is a prophesy through an evil spirit. It is not a prophesy through the Holy Spirit. one of the gifts of the Holy Spirit is prophesy and Satan imitates the Holy Spirit.

Satan imitating the Holy Spirit 

Satan was an archangel, his name was Lucifer. He wanted to ascend himself like the most high God “ Your pomp is brought down to Sheol, And the sound of your stringed instruments; The maggot is spread under you, And worms cover you.’"How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, You who weakened the nations!  For you have said in your heart: ‘I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation On the farthest sides of the north;  I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High .Yet you shall be brought down to Sheol, To the lowest depths of the Pit”{Is 14: 11-15} That is why the Lord threw him out of heaven and Satan took with him third of the angels “And another sign appeared in heaven: behold, a great, fiery red dragon having seven heads and ten horns, and seven diadems on his heads.  His tail drew a third of the stars of heaven and threw them to the earth” {Re12:3,4} Satan and his fallen angels are spiritual being ( we will talk about this subject in details in future articles) because Satan and his fallen angels are spiritual being so they can imitate some of the work of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit works for the salvation and the peace of the human race but Satan works hard to destroy the human being through deception. He deceive you by convincing you if you go to someone to know the future through reading tea or coffee leaves, reading your palm, reading the cards and knowing your stars sign. People who know the future, who are not walking with the Lord. They know it through divination spirit. One of the gifts of the Holy Spirit is called word of knowledge and Satan imitate this gift with a divination spirit as he did with the apostle Paul in acts 16.

When you observe the times, you will plan your life through wrong belief based on what you have prophesied for yourself. You will forget that you are in the hand of the Almighty God who loved you and gave His sone up for you and also gave you His Holy Spirit to commune with.

In the old testament the word in Hebrew (observe the times) was mentioned ten times.

How witchcraft is preformed?

Before I explain how witchcraft is done, I want to mention few verses about witchcraft {2Ch33:6} ,{Is47: 9,12} ,{Mi 5:12}, {Na 3:4} and from the new testament “And they did not repent of their murders or their sorceries or their sexual immorality or their thefts.” {Re9:21} and “"But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.” {Re21:8} and “…, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city. But outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie.” {Re22:14,15}

Witchcraft is done through a person who has a covenant with an evil spirit or evil spirits to do whatever this person ask them to do, and it is normally for the destruction of another person. These sorcerers would use items which have been in contact with the person they intend to harm. As we mentioned last article there is no white magic and black magic, they are all black. The sorcerers would give some items for the person they intend to harm, imitating what was mentioned in the book of acts “Now God worked unusual miracles by the hands of Paul,  so that even handkerchiefs or aprons were brought from his body to the sick, and the diseases left them and the evil spirits went out of them.” {Ac 19:11,12}. These sorcerers would charge these objects with a demonic effect just as the Holy Spirit charges the handkerchiefs or aprons from Paul’s body. Paul was filled with the Holy Spirit so the objects were taken from his body also had the Holy Spirit in them.

True story

I met this lady in USA, she was married to a doctor, who was older than her by 27 years. Her husband’s colleague hoped to marry him but instead he married the young woman. After two years of marriage the young wife noticed that her hair was falling off, she had bleeding and her skin had ulcers. She realized that her husband’s colleague did witchcraft on her. There are many shops all over the western countries for just witchcraft, so she went to one of them to undo the other woman’s magic. The sorcerer charged this young woman over a year $250000 yes two hundred and fifty thousands US dollars. She did not have all this money and she was in charge of the accounts of the  her husband’s clinic, she embezzled money from the clinic and sold all her jewelry. Her husband discovered the loss of the money and he gave her a choice: I ether divorce you and you let go of all your rights or I will report your embezzlement to the police. Of course she let go of all her rights and got divorced. When I met her she was convinced that this sorcerer did her a favor by undoing this magic. I explained to her that to undo magic is only through the name and the blood of Jesus  and not through what this sorcerer did. This gave her many plants, oils, herbs, water and stones to justify the money she received from the young wife. I advised her to throw away all these things in the sea so no one will have his hands on them. I also said to her when you throw them into the sea pray this prayer: in Jesus name I cancel out all the demonic effects in these objects. I also put her on a spiritual life where she has to pursue holiness in her walk with Jesus Christ. She now serves Jesus and married someone who serves Jesus also.

What will evil spirit benefit if he fulfill the sorcerer’s wish? Satan wants to destroy the person whom Jesus redeemed with his blood. Satan is so jealous from the human race. 

Why Satan is so jealous from the human race?

When Satan wanted to exalt himself against God, what did God do with Satan? He kicked him out of heaven and prepared hell for him and his angels {Mat 25}God did not try to save Satan, though he was an archangel. But when Adam and Eve, whom were created in the image and likeness of god, fell, what our good God did? He came to our land and suffered and saved us with His Blood.

I think now you can see why Satan is so jealous from the human race. His aim as we said last time is to steel, kill and destroy but Jesus came that we may have life and have it abundantly. I pray that everyone of us understand that he has a very special place in Jesus’ heart and it is wise that we have a close relationship with our Lord for He saved us with His Blood.

I will write on how dangerous these things are, they can destroy your life, spiritually, emotionally and physically. There are harsh consequences for anyone  who does these things, he will live in torment.  To be continued
