Promises of justice and swords of
Spirit (2)
We
continue the articles about
oppression. We will study some verses
from the New Testament to see what our
good God says about our oppressors.
1- “"He
who hears you hears
Me, he who
rejects you rejects Me, and he who
rejects Me rejects Him who sent Me."”
{Lu 10:16} Jesus Christ said this
verse to His disciples when He sent
them to preach. These days we find
some people take joy in humiliating
whoever speaks about Jesus Christ.
Anyone who serves the Lord, even in
the simplest way, has a place in the
heart and mind of God. Moreover,
whoever hears and receives God’s
servants will receives God Himself and
whoever rejects God’s servant will
reject God Himself. I want you to ask
your self this question; did I ever
reject one of God’s servants? I do not
mean pastors and persons who have a
role in the church only, but everyone
who serves Jesus Christ in a very
simple way. Everyone who serves Jesus
Christ, and honors His Word and does
not have the ability or the power to
answer his oppressors like our Lord
Jesus Christ did. When the servant of
the high priest slapped Jesus on the
face, “Jesus answered him, "If I have
spoken evil, bear witness of the evil;
but if well, why do you strike
Me?"”
{Joh18:23}. Many say that Jesus Christ
did not defend himself or talk at all
to his oppressors; we heard this false
teaching all the times. Jesus did not
regard the accusation because it was
pure lies, but when the rulers and the
high priest asked Him, He answered and
said He is the Messiah the Son of God,
He is the king of the Jews. He said He
is the Son of Man who will sit at the
right hand of God. Read the following
verses {Mt 26:62-64}
,{Mr1460-64} ,{Lu22:66_69}
Jesus Christ allowed others to
humiliate, torture and insult Him for
the eternal purpose of God to be
fulfilled, and for the salvation of
the humanity from the power of
darkness, Satan, the law of Moses
{which no one could honor} and the
power of sin in all its forms
including oppression.
Some may say but Jesus said on the
cross “"Father, forgive them, for they
do not know what they do."” {Lu23:34}.
Yes Jesus Christ said that “for had
they known, they would not have
crucified the Lord of glory.” {1Co
2:8}. It was the purpose of God to
conceal his identity, that he is the
Lord of glory, the Messiah, the king
of the Jews. If they knew who He is,
they would not have crucified Him and
the plan of salvation would not have
been fulfilled.
This is our Christ, the Lord Jesus,
our Savior, the Holy one, who created
every thing with the word of His
mouth, He accepted to be oppressed
that everyone believes in His
salvation would be delivered from the
bondage of sin, Satan, and the
oppression of others. Do not accept
insult or humiliation from anyone even
if they have a spiritual status. If
you do not want to answer back, then
you have to pray as we discussed in
earlier article, but do not accept
oppression from anyone and do not
loose your peace.
2- “I could wish that those who
trouble you would even cut themselves
off!” {Ga5:12} this epistle was
written to the Galatians to alarm them
against a wrong teaching, which was
spreading among them at that time. The
apostle Paul was saying anyone who
troubles you with a wrong teaching he
should cut
themselves off. We see many
wrong teaching now, which has nothing
to do with the bible and the teaching
of the apostles, and if you object to
a wrong teaching, it will be wow to
you. The sad thing is many in the
church defend the wrong teachings with
all their might and start accusing you
that you are wrong. If anyone tries to
follow and talk about the teachings of
the bible, the answer of others to him
will be filled with human wisdoms and
logical explanations and they would
say [use your brain and logic things
instead of going back to the bible]
Beloved; anyone who does not speak the
truth of the bible and use human
wisdom, pray as Paul did {could wish
that those who trouble you would even
cut themselves off!} Paul said in the
same epistle “For do I now persuade
men, or God? Or do I seek to please
men? For if I
still pleased men, I would not be a
bondservant of Christ” {Ga
1:10}.
Be a bondservant to Christ only and do
not be a bondservant to any man, if
you do that no one can harm you. When
you honor God, obey His word, and fear
no man, but be a bondservant to
Christ, Christ will take care of you.
If you become a bondservant to anyone,
regardless who he is, you loose your
place in Christ.
3- “Since it is a righteous
thing with God to repay with
tribulation those who trouble you. And
to give you who are troubled rest with
us when the Lord Jesus is revealed
from heaven with His mighty angels, in
flaming fire taking vengeance on those
who do not know God, and on those who
do not obey the gospel of our Lord
Jesus Christ.
These shall be punished with
everlasting destruction from the
presence of the Lord and from the
glory of His power” {1Th 1:6-9}.
It is clear from those verses that the
ones who trouble us, God will repay
them with tribulation. Do not accept
oppression from anyone. Go to your
heavenly father, who paid a precious
price to redeem you, the blood of His
Son Jesus Christ, and pour your heart
out to Him. Tell Him about your pain
and injustice.
Beloved; I pray that everyone of God’s
children, who were redeemed by the
blood of Jesus Christ, know that these
verses will apply in the lives of the
true children of God who pray
fervently for the Word of God to be a
reality in their lives
4- “Beloved, do not avenge
yourselves,
but rather give place to wrath; for it
is written, "Vengeance is Mine, I will
repay," says the Lord.” {Ro12:19}.
Finally, please do not avenge yourself
ever. I have learned this lesson if I
avenge myself God will not avenge me,
but if I asked God to solve the
problem with His wisdom, He will
assuredly avenge me if anyone
oppresses me.
With this article, I have concluded
the series about oppression. The first
article was about how wrong it is to
accept oppression and think it is a
blessing. The second article was about
how serious it is when you say about
someone (God forgive him) and your
heart is full of bitterness. It is
good if you can forgive, but you are
justified if you feel bad about the
situation. Then we talked about the
foundation of forgiveness as our Lord
Jesus Christ founded it. The third
article was about the promises of
justice and the swords of the Spirit
in the Old Testament. This article is
the last about the subject of
oppression.
