Promises of justice and swords of the Spirit (1)

In this article we will ponder on some of the verses of the Old Testament and in the next article we will ponder on verses from the New Testament

1- (I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you;) {Ge12:3} this was God’s promise to Abraham and also to his people (Cursed be everyone who curses you, And blessed be those who bless you!") {Ge27:29} trust that the eyes of the Lord are on His children all the times and every where. If a person honors God’s children, he will be honored by God. If a person harms one of God’s children, you can be assured that the powerful and mighty rod of God will be stretched out and harm the oppressor. This is a personal testimony for many people and for myself. I know a servant of God, very faithful who does not compromise the truth of the bible. He faces a lot of apposition for he defends the truth of the bible at all times. Some have prosecuted him for that, and the punishments of the Lord were so great and sever upon his oppressors. We have now an increasing number of people who oppose the truth of God. God will never leave or forsake His children ever.

God’s beloved; rest assured that if anyone oppresses you unjustly, this person will never escape God’s judgment, which is righteous and just when you ask God to be the judge in the matter. But if you say, Lord forgive him as we explained last time, then you have given up your rights in the heavenly court. If you want to forgive without bitterness then this is good and well. But if you say God forgive him and your heart is filled with bitterness then this is wrong.

2- (Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the captives of the righteous be delivered? But thus says the LORD: "Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible be delivered; for I will contend with him who contends with you, and I will save your children. I will feed those who oppress you with their own flesh, and they shall be drunk with their own blood as with sweet wine.) {Isa 49:24-26} no matter how mighty is your oppressor, he will not withstand the mightiness of the Almighty God. Jesus christ died on the cross, the Holy and Mighty Son of God who died for the sinner to justify you and me with His Holy blood, He never accepted and will never accept that anyone oppress you and me no matter who this person is…. you have to trust that God will contend with him who contends with you to the ultimate. No one will escape God’s judgment.

I have learned this lesson from my beloved father, who if anyone harmed him, he would go to his room and pray fervently for Jesus Christ to intervene and solve the problem.  We had a picture for Jesus Christ in the family room and my father fixed an envelop on this picture. We learned from my father that if anyone had a concern, he would write a letter to Jesus and place the letter in the envelope and pray in faith that God will hear and answer our prayers in His own time and ways. Rest assured that God will contend with him who contends with you, and He will save your children and will feed those who oppress you with their own flesh. Try to trust in His Word and stand, see, enjoy, and rejoice with the salvation of the Lord Jesus Christ. We do not see the punishment of God to our oppressor because we do not obey His Word and believe His promises.

3- (Therefore thus says the LORD: "Behold, I will plead your case and take vengeance for you) {Jer 51:36} this was the promise of God to His people in the old when the Babylonian took them as a captives. We are now God’s people, whom Jesus Christ shed His precious blood for their redemption, that if we truly know His commandments and obey them. You will not know His commandments unless you read them in the bible.

God will never accept that anyone oppress His children, even if this person is one of His children. He is a just God. God is not partial, if His Word commands us not to be partial with others, then he will not be partial with His children. It is true that God will favor His faithful children, but he will not accept unjustness from any person in His body no matter the level or the rank of this person in the church.

4- (For he who touches you touches the apple of [his in AV] His eye.  "For surely I will shake My hand against them, and they shall become spoil for their servants.) {Zec2:8,9} Did you try to touch the apple of the eye of anyone? You will not be able to do that ever. But I say to you, did you try to touch the apple of your eye!! Stop reading now and try to touch the apple of your eye.

Did you touch the apple of your eye? I am sure you could not do that. God is saying that, if anyone just touches us, not hurt us badly, he will be severely punished. Beloved think of this comparison; anyone touches us will touch the apple of his eye. The worst pain is the pain of the eye. If one of your eyelashes entered your eye you will not be able to open the eye easily. Can you sleep with an eyelash in your eye? You will not be able to sleep until you remove that eyelash out of your eye.

God will torment our oppressor, they will not be able to sleep, and they will not rest. Their eyes will not enjoy a good sleep, there will be no peace in their hearts, and there will be no rest in their homes until they justify God’s children. You have to believe the Word of God (For he who touches you touches the apple of [his in AV] His eye.) all God’s promises are true, make them the manual of your life. If you believe God’s promises, they will be fulfilled in your life without a doubt. His promises are just and His Word is two-edged sword.

5- He also will keep you like the apple of His eye ("He found him in a desert land And in the wasteland, a howling wilderness; He encircled him, He instructed him, He kept him as the apple of His eye.) {De 32:10} Moses was talking about how God encircled and instructed and kept His people in the old times like the apple of His eye. Beloved we are now God’s people after the crucifixion of our Lord Jesus Christ and the shedding of His blood for our salvation; He will care for us, protect and defend us, and keep us as the apple of His eye, the eyes of God.

No one dare to harm God’s children and escapes God’s punishment ever, ever.

These were a very few verses from the bible. Some may say; these were verses from the Old Testament, but the New Testament is full of love. That is true the New Testament is based on the love of God, but the love of God will never cancel His justice ever. He is a loving and just God.

Next article we will ponder on The New Testament promises of justice and the sword of the Spirit…we will continue next article.
