The
Fatherhood Of
God To Us 2
During
my Christian counsel I discovered a
very important principal that affect
many lives, regardless of the age, the
status and the education of the person
that is, we see God through how we see
our earthly father. Our earthly father
plays a big role in the way we see
God, either draw us near to God or put
a wedge in our relation with the
Heavenly Father. Our earthly father is
the one who guide, supply our needs,
gives advice and protect us. He is the
one who represent the Heavenly Father.
We will deal with the Heavenly
Father the same way we deal with our
earthly father. If we respect our
natural father we will respect our
Heavenly Father. If we pay no
attention to the advice of our natural
father we will not regard our Heavenly
Father’s Words, and so on.
This is
a Biblical principal “As
a father pities his children, so the
Lord pities those who fear Him” {Ps
103: 13} Satan will use this verse to
convince many with the wrong thoughts.
One of these thoughts is; the loving
Heavenly Father will behave with us
the way our natural father will in any
thing. So as your father forsaken you
so is God, but God will never leave us
or forsake us “For He Himself has
said, "I will never leave you nor
forsake you." {Heb 13:5} we will see
the Fatherhood of God as we see our
earthly father. We can see the
importance of having a good father in
our lives. If we have a godly father
who fears God in every thing, we will
see God in the right image. The
opposite is very true for we will see
God in a much distorted way.
Some examples:
This example is one of very many I
have seen through my Christian
counseling. I met her, she was very
educated and she had a problem in her
marriage. She felt it was a huge
problem and it was. I advised her that
the only solution is to pray and trust
the Heavenly Father to solve it in His
timing. I could notice that she was
not convinced that God will solve this
problem. I asked her do you believe
that God can resolve this problem. Her
answer was: I do not know if God will
intervene to solve this problem or
not. I said; do you remember when you
were a child, how your father looked
after you? She answered; I do not
recall my father looking after me.
Then I knew the rest of the story; her
father work required him to travel few
days a week, he was away most of the
time. In the end he left his wife and
children and had an affair with
another woman. He divorced his wife
and abandoned the whole family. This
lady grow up with no father image in
her life, she did not know what it
means to have a father in her life to
look after her.
I had to explain to her the love of
the Heavenly Father from the Bible,
how he gave up His only Son for her so
she can have a free salvation from
eternal hell and to give her every
blessing in the heaven. This lady was
a mother for two children, at that
time her baby was with her, and I
wanted to make my point of the love of
the Heavenly Father so I stretched out
my hand to touch her baby and I said
would allow me to hurt your child? She
looked at me and said firmly; I will
never allow anyone to touch my baby. I
laughed and said do you think you are
more loving and compassionate with
your baby than the Heavenly Father
with you? The Heavenly Father loves
you so much more than you love your
baby. She smiled and said; I know what
you mean now, of course not, it is
impossible that I will love my
children more that the Heavenly Father
loves me.
If you are a parent ask yourself this
question, do I want to torment and
curse my children or to comfort and
bless them? My
beloved; God’s heart if full of an
amazing love to every one of His
children, no one can fathom a glimpse
of this love. God is love; if
you honor Him He will honor you. Her
problem got solved when she started to
comprehend God’s love and care for
her. She is in a better life now.
Beloved, our God is the best
father in the world.
Another example:
she came to me and said; I cannot talk
in front of anyone because of my
extreme fear. Her hands were shaky and
sweating badly. My first question was;
tell me about your relationship with
your father? She said; my father and
my mother worked for a long hours so
we were apart most of the time. I
encouraged her to read the Bible [if
you have read some of my article you
would of noticed that my advice to
solve all problems is to read the
Bible] she said; I do not understand
the Bible. I advised her to start with
the gospel of John and if she did not
understand anything she can ask me. I
started to explain that God “He who
did not spare His own Son, but
delivered Him up for us all, how shall
He not with Him also freely give us
all things?” {Ro8:32} I encourage her
to ask God for different things in
prayer. She started to ask for simple
requests and she was encouraged when
she found out that God truly hears and
answers the prayers. She started to
read the Bible and understand it. She
has a wonderful life with our Heavenly
Father. She feared people and could
not understand the Bible because she
did not have a good relationship with
the earthly father. They were not
communicating together. If your father
is stingy or harsh, you will think
that your Heavenly Father is exactly
the same and you will fear the future
and what it brings. If your father is
a harsh person, you will think that
God is the same no matter how much He
stretched out His loving arm for you
to lift you up and care for you.
What is the solution?
Very simple, the hardship you went
through will not turn God’s heart
against you but the opposite is true.
His heart will be full of compassion
towards you. He loved us unto death
for He gave His only Son to save us
because He is the Best Father ever “…
the LORD will wait, that He may be
gracious to you…., that He may have
mercy on you….Blessed are all those
who wait for Him… You shall weep no
more. He will be very gracious to you
at the sound of your cry; When He
hears it, He will answer you.”
{Isa30:18,19}
He is the only one who knows all your
pain. He knows all your circumstances.
The Lord Jesus Christ said “The Spirit
of the LORD is upon Me, because He has
anointed Me To preach the gospel to
the poor; He has sent Me to heal the
brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to
the captives and recovery of sight to
the blind, To set at liberty those who
are oppressed; To proclaim the
acceptable year of the LORD”{Lu
4:18,19}
He sent His only Son to die the death
of a sinner to save us. The word saves
means also to deliver, protect and
heal total healing. This is the
salvation of Jesus Christ to every one
of us. These verses show God’s purpose
in our lives.
I pray to our good God; that the Holy
Spirit opens our eyes to see the
heavenly blessing we have in Christ
Jesus before the Heavenly Father that
every one of us may enjoy the
Fatherhood of God, the best Father and
to live with the one who “raised
us up together, and made us sit
together in the heavenly places in
Christ Jesus,” {Eph2:6}
Next time we will talk about guilt
feeling…
